Individual Therapy
Where the work begins, whatever brought you here.
Individual therapy offers a non-judgmental space to understand the whole of who you are, your experiences, thoughts, feelings, and the patterns that shape how you move through life, and to find real relief from what's been weighing on you. People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons: learning to tolerate difficult emotions, navigating relationship challenges, feeling more comfortable in your own skin, or letting go of habits and patterns that no longer serve you. Whatever brought you here, we'll work together toward what you actually want to change.
What Happens in Individual Therapy?
This is simply you and me, working together, on your terms. There's no set curriculum or fixed idea of what we "should" be talking about. We'll figure that out together, based on what's actually going on in your life and what you're hoping will feel different.
My approach is more exploratory than structured. I stay curious, and I'll gently invite you to look at things from a different angle when it's useful, but this isn't a passive experience where you talk and I just listen. I'm actively engaged, and I'll share my own reflections along the way. Therapy with me can be serious, playful, and occasionally funny, sometimes all in the same session. We build this together, and figure out along the way what actually works for you.
Who Is This For?
Individual therapy is a good starting point for almost anyone, whether or not you already know what you're working on. It's especially helpful if you're:
-
Dealing with anxiety, low mood, or emotions that feel hard to manage
-
Navigating a difficult relationship, or a pattern that keeps showing up across relationships
-
Struggling to feel comfortable with who you are
-
Ready to let go of a habit or pattern that no longer serves you
-
Not entirely sure what's wrong, just that something needs to shift
You don't need to arrive with a clear diagnosis or a tidy explanation. That's part of what we figure out together.

How Can Therapy Help?
Most people come to therapy hoping for a more fulfilling, meaningful way of living. What that looks like is different for everyone, but clients often find a greater sense of ease, stronger self-esteem, more adaptive ways of coping, and more flexibility when life gets hard. Just as importantly, many find more room for pleasure and enjoyment, therapy isn't only about fixing what's difficult, it's also about making more space for what feels good.
For some clients, individual therapy is the whole of our work together. For others, once we understand what's underneath a pattern, it can also open the door to more specialized approaches like EMDR or Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, when and if that feels right.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don't know what to talk about?
That's completely normal, and not something you need to have figured out ahead of time. We'll find our way into what matters together.
How long will I be in therapy?
It depends entirely on what you're working through and what you're hoping for. Some people come for a few months around something specific, others stay longer for deeper, ongoing work. We'll check in on this together along the way.
Is this different from your more specialized services, like EMDR or KAP?
Individual therapy is the foundation of everything I do. If EMDR or Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy seems like it would help, we'll talk about that together when and if it's relevant. You never need to choose a modality before reaching out.
