How does it work?
First, we will set up a complimentary consultation to determine whether I am the best person to help you. Next, we will schedule a first session where we discuss your goals, get to know each other, and further evaluate whether we are a good match. Sessions are generally 50 minutes weekly, but we may decide to meet more frequently based on your needs and goals for therapy.
What will I gain from therapy?
People often begin therapy with me because they desire a more fulfilling and meaningful way of being. Some benefits include a greater sense of ease, increased self-esteem, adaptive coping skills, increased flexibility to deal with challenging circumstances, and more pleasure and fun.
What is therapy with you like?
Each therapeutic relationship is unique, which means we will decide together how to spend our time. In general, therapy with me is more exploratory than structured. My approach invites curiosity, while gently challenging you to think about things through a different lens. In session I am actively engaged and will share my insights and reflections with you. We may even share a laugh together. The therapeutic experience is co-created and together we get to figure out what works best for you.
Do you accept insurance?
I don’t accept insurance, but depending on your health care plan, I can provide you with a monthly superbill which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Here are some questions you’ll want to ask your insurance provider:
Does my plan include out-of-network mental health coverage?
Is there a limit to the number of sessions per calendar year?
Do I have a deductible and has it been met yet?
What percentage do you pay for out-of-network mental health benefits and up to what allowed amount?
How much do you charge?
The fee is an important and meaningful part of therapy. Therefore, I believe it’s best to discuss the appropriate rate in our initial consultation. I offer a limited amount of sliding scale fees for those demonstrating true financial need.
